Supporting over 2,000 offenders in just one month

Purple Futures is a partnership of private sector, charities and social enterprises, which has been providing probation and rehabilitation services on behalf of the Ministry of Justice since February 2015.

As part of Purple Futures, 3SC is currently managing a supply chain of 49 delivery organisations delivering 59 contracts across five regions. During September alone the supply chain supported over 2,000 offenders on their journey to rehabilitation.

In addition one of 3SC’s core roles is to generate and keep updated a Directory of Services that has over 1,900 services available to help offenders with their transition back into the community.  As part of the Transforming Rehabilitation agenda these services are creating a real step change in how rehabilitation services have historically been delivered and include a wide range of housing, addiction, benefits, health, wider welfare and employment services.

The Purple Futures Board have also approved over £293,000 in grants that go directly into VCSEs to help them deliver and develop their services.  Jo Cholerton, 3SC Programme, said “This partnership clearly demonstrates our support to the long term sustainability of the third sector at a community based level, having a positive impact on both the organisations and the offenders they support.”
