Past Youth Contracts

Future Jobs Fund

This was a Government supported scheme operated through DWP to offer 6 months fully funded work placements to young people aged 18-24 who were long term unemployed. The aim was to provide experience of the work environment but in reality nearly 35% went on to sustained employment.

This was 3SC’s first employment and skills contract and was offered over 3 phases from2009-2011. 3SC were a national provider (as opposed to Regional) and were contracted to deliver over 6000 work placements across England.

3SC was one of the leading UK providers along with Groundwork and also delivered placements on behalf of Nation al Housing Federation. In total approx. 65 delivery organisations were used to host the placements.

Talent Match

3SC worked with London Youth to deliver the Talent Match programme for London. Talent Match was a Big Lottery Fund programme that supports 18 - 24 year olds who have been out of work, education or training over 12 months. London Youth’s programme covered 11 London Boroughs, and included specialist provision for young people with disabilities, young people who are parents and carers, and young people who are interested in entrepreneurship. 3SC lead the Disability Specialist partnership, covering all 11 boroughs. Our partners included Mencap, Royal Association for Deaf People, Royal London Society for the Blind, City & Hackney Mind, Jobs in Mind, and a range of specialist providers.

Bridgend Futures

3SC delivered The Bridgend Futures Contract for Bridgend County Borough Council, working with their Communities First teams to support 90 NEETs and 90 Older people, living in the local communities.

The delivery was aimed at local residents who were not being supported by other provisions or organisations, to engage with them in employment related services to enable them to take up training, volunteers and employment. The programme went live in December 2013 and continued until it’s close in March 2015. The 3SC contract over achieved on almost all outcomes and assisted in excess of 50 people in gaining a recognised qualification. All participants also recorded feeling more confident after taking part. Please view our case study section for more details on this inspiring contract.

Jobs Growth Wales

3SC is proud to have played its part in delivering the Welsh Government’s flag ship employment programme  - Jobs Growth Wales. From August 2013 to March 2015 we promoted the programme to thousands of employers and successfully placed over 650 young people into lasting employment opportunities. The Jobs Growth Wales scheme through 3SC enabled employers to recruit young people aged 16-24 with the wages for the first six months being supported by European Social Funding. 3SC delivered both the third sector strand and the supported strand. We were able to offer direct opportunities to charities, social enterprises, voluntary and community groups. On the supported strand we delivered a ground breaking programme of support to young people who were further away from the job market and provided one to one coaching to support them in their new job.

Integr8 was a 1.25 million Greater London Authority (GLA) project operating in the North, East and South of London. Integr8 was aimed at young people who had been repeatedly excluded from school to help them to engage more effectively with their education, and prevent them from becoming NEET. Integr8 worked with schools and alternative education providers in several London boroughs and was delivered in partnership with a consortium of 6 specialist third sector providers.

3SC launched the first social impact bond in Wales supporting disaffected young people using DWP Innovation Fund. Capitalise was delivered in partnership with Catch22: include, Dyslexia Action, and Big Society Capital and worked with over 700 of the most vulnerable young people with the aim of preventing them from becoming NEET. The whole programme was completed by working within the school environment, providing support workers and specialist teachers to use CBT methodologies to improve attainment, behaviour and attitude. The programme was a phenomenal success and generated fair in excess of the outcomes that were initially suggested. 3SC remain immensely proud to have managed and delivered, in partnership, this ground breaking programme.
