Ken Skates AM, The Deputy Minister for Skills & Technology for the National Assembly for Wales writes to 3SC and its members about Jobs Growth Wales

This month, 3SC’s Business Development Team has continued to pursue new opportunities for our members in the criminal justice, employability and NEET markets.

We have to balance the imperative to deliver quality public services on the one hand, and to save taxpayers’ money on the other. One possible consequence of this is the commoditisation of service users on the ground so that measurable outcomes translate easily into contract payments. Under these circumstances risk is passed from policy maker to commissioner, commissioner to deliverer and from deliverer to the service user.

3SC is delighted to announce that Business in The Community (BITC) is our member of the month for July. BITC collaborated closely with 3SC to develop our NEA Mentoring proposals, and have enhanced our offer by sharing the valuable lessons learned from frontline delivery. We look forward to working with BITC, and up to 10 other 3SC members to deliver the next round of NEA Mentoring services if our bids are successful.

The NCSE is delivered by a partnership between 3SC, Social Firms UK and Social Enterprise UK and funded by NOMS CFO and the European Social Fund. This unique consortium offers VCSEs plus local & regional consortia opportunities to be part of national contracts to deliver their diverse and innovative services throughout England.

To celebrate 10,000 employees on Jobs Growth Wales, the Welsh Government invited us to be involved with a promotional video along with Mike and Nathan from Aspray. We are delighted to have employers like Aspray on board providing great vacancies.
