Navigating the workplace can be challenging for individuals with neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or dyspraxia. But with the right support, these challenges can be transformed into strengths. That’s where the Access to Work Scheme comes in — and why organisations like 3SC are making a real difference.

What Is the Access to Work Scheme?

The Access to Work Scheme is a UK government-funded initiative designed to help people with disabilities or health conditions get into and stay in work. It provides financial support for practical workplace adjustments and services that go beyond what employers are legally required to provide.

Through Access to Work, eligible individuals can receive funding for:

• Specialist equipment or assistive technology
• Support workers or job coaches
• Mental health support
• Travel costs if public transport isn’t an option
• Communication support for job interviews
• Specialist coaching, including Coping Strategies Training and Disability Impact Training

Proven Impact

Clients consistently report improved self-awareness, better coping strategies, and a renewed sense of empowerment:

“It’s been really nice that I’ve been given the space to find my own solutions, but in a way that has been guided. My Coach’s support and suggestions are a safety net during the sessions … It felt okay for me to not know something, and I didn’t feel pushed past what I am capable of.”

“I am now much more confident in my self-resilience and self-management strategies, including at times of increased stress … I really appreciated Brenda’s sensitive and informed approach, drawing from her unique lived experience and varied professional background.”

“Becky has provided me with insight. I had counselling for Anxiety but I found this coaching has explained more about who I am and how to work with this neurological condition … rather than looking at something that holds me back, it can be a positive part of who I am and gives me many skills other people don’t have, that I couldn’t see for myself.”
