West Midlands Probation Service | Neurodiverse Coaching
3SC deliver a high-quality coaching service to People on Probation throughout the West Midlands. We work on an individual basis with service users having diagnosed or suspected Neurodiverse conditions.
Every person is provided with bespoke support, to develop self-awareness of their own neurodiverse strengths, improve self-efficacy, resilience and the ability to recognise and manage triggers to worsening well-being. They benefit from a customised approach to build and maintain social interaction and to engage with and access relevant clinical services including mental health. 3SC also delivers an extensive programme of awareness raising, training and support to Probation Staff to upskill them on working with people who are Neurodivergent.
The All-Wales coaching programme supports people on probation and their probation practitioners, in many areas to do with the condition of the person and beyond. Through high quality coaching methods, over 6, 1 hour sessions, we help the client understand themselves, their feelings and their behaviours.
We help them to develop healthy, sustainable coping strategies for the challenging parts of their condition, whilst emphasising the good traits the condition brings. The process itself, helps the client to create their own problem-solving method, ensuring the benefits of the coaching will last way beyond their sessions, improving not only their lives but the lives of all they have contact with.
The IOM programme at 3SC offers tailored 1-to-1 coaching sessions designed to support individuals with neurodiversity.
Over the course of five weeks, participants will receive one hour of personalised coaching each week, with the same coach to ensure consistency and bespoke to their unique needs.
The programme is focused on helping individuals:
- Understand their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
- Gain insight into other people’s perspectives, emotions, and actions.
- Learn the impact of reoffending behaviour and adopt socially acceptable, safer alternatives.
- Develop coping strategies to comply with probation requirements.
- Engage with local mental health services and adhere to medication, treatment, or therapy.
This supportive environment helps participants to reduce risk of reoffending, make lasting changes, improve social interactions and successfully meet probation expectations.
The Autism Support Service aims to support those experiencing symptoms associated with Autism. We do not ask for a diagnosis and prefer to work with participants on their individual strengths and challenges, therefore enabling a much wider pool of candidates to access the support on offer.
